NEW: ICAO Low Intensity Type A & B Dual Fixture

The Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) is responsible for the inspection and approval of aviation obstacles. In April 2017 FOCA issued a new guideline for aviation obstacles.

According to the new Regulation AD I-006 on Aviation Obstacles, following requirements apply to low intensity obstruction lights:

Infrared: Wavelength (λ) 850 nm. For low intensity obstruction lighting the radiant intensity (Ie) must be in the range of 150 to 1’200 mW/sr.
